A scaleable cAMP biosensor HTS platform is a critical part of our drug discovery and deorphanization processes.
BD ACTOne

ACTOne - An easily scaleable cAMP biosensor HTS platform for Gs and Gi GPCR drug discovery and deorphanization.

ACTOne is a highly-sensitive and cost effective tool for screening G-protein coupled receptors (GPCRs) that signal through Gs or Gi G-proteins. Using a natural biosensor approach, this technology has many advantages over biochemical or other live cell technologies.

Act:One cAMP

ACTOne offers:

  • Measurement of physiological levels of cAMP in living cells providing access to Gs and Gi receptors
  • Excellent signal to noise ratio and reproducibility for better data confidence
  • High sensitivity with ability to see cAMP changes in single cells
  • Stable signal allowing kinetic or endpoint assay formats
  • Screening of agonists and antagonists (or allosteric modulators) saving time and reagents
  • Allows experimentation with endogenous receptors
  • Cost-effectiveness
  • Powerful deorphanizing tool to help study novel receptors
  • Ability to work at room temperature making it more suitable to high-throughput screening
  • Familiar protocols and equipment thereby simplifying validation and shortening integration time
  • Ability to run as a homogeneous assay using membrane potential dyes
  • Compatibility with single-cell imaging platforms for high-content analysis and multiplexing.
