Deorphanizing GPCRs
Since the Gq and Gs calcium responses can be differentiated by their kinetic profiles, it is possible to use the ACT:One technology to classify receptors into a Gq or Gs category, thereby assisting in deorphanizing those receptors. Gi receptors can also be investigated. Also, since the signaling is through native receptors and G-proteins, there is no need to have access to the naturally occurring ligand.
