ATTO Technology Announces Certification for vSphere 5

High-Performance Fibre Channel Support for VMware Environments

Amherst, NY (August 25, 2011) — ATTO Technology, Inc., today announced its Celerity line of 8Gb/s Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapters (HBAs) support of VMware's vSphere® 5 cloud operating system. vSphere is VMware's latest cloud operating system and is available for both small and mid-size businesses as well as enterprise-class users. It helps manage both virtualized software and hardware applications and is on the forefront of pushing the use of cloud computing, especially in the datacenter market. vSphere also works alongside other public cloud operating system offerings, making it the only hybrid cloud model on the market today.

The ATTO Celerity family of 8Gb/s Fibre Channel HBAs include single-, dual- and quad-channel configurations that leverage over a decade of leading-edge technologies, stable drivers and proven interoperability to provide customers with reliable, high performance Fibre Channel connectivity. ATTO Celerity Fibre Channel HBAs deliver extensive interoperability with leading infrastructure vendors while providing high-performance scalable SAN connectivity and enterprise-level features. They include both target and initiator drivers for integration into workstations or storage enclosures.

MultiPath Director™ is the industry's first high-availability solution for cross-platform workstation connectivity to enterprise-class storage. MultiPath Director addresses workstation-level needs for load-balancing and automatic path failover, features previously available only at a server level. ATTO's SAN connectivity solutions are engineered to provide smooth and reliable data transfers that increase productivity and performance.

ATTO also has NPIV support allowing n-port identification virtualization to give customers the ability to create worldwide names and utilizing zones for greater network security and controls. SAS/SATA certification is expected in the coming months.
