ATTO Technology Announces Industry-First PCIe 3.0 High Performance SAS/SATA Host Bus Adapters

Speeds up to 8GB/s through ExpressSAS® H6F0 HBA

Nov 07, 2011

Amherst, NY (November 7, 2011) — ATTO Technology, Inc., today announced the availability of its ExpressSAS® 6Gb/s SAS/SATA H6F0 GT host bus adapters (HBA). This marks the first-to-market SAS/SATA adapter developed using the PCIe 3.0 specification, and is capable of speeds up to 8GB/s in a single PCIe slot, doubling the performance over existing HBAs. Currently offered to OEM customers only, the ExpressSAS® H6F0 will be available to the channel in the fourth quarter, 2011.

ATTO H6F0 GT HBAs are available with 16 external mini-SAS HD ports and are designed to support a dense and efficient connection to external storage from rack mount servers and workstations in data center, data warehousing, VOD and other high-availability, high-performance applications. They are bolstered by Advanced Data Streaming (ADS)™, a proprietary technology that controls the acceleration of data transfers to move large amounts of data more efficiently. The H6F0 GT supports up to 512 SAS/SATA drives and is compatible with existing PCIe 2.0 ports.

“Leveraging our more than 20 years of connectivity innovation, ATTO is proud to offer the market's first PCIe 3.0 compatible SAS HBA,” said Peter Donnelly, product manager at ATTO Technology. “Our ExpressSAS® H6F0 GT cards are another example of our commitment to providing the industry's leading-edge products.”

ATTO HBAs also come with ATTO's easy-to-use Configuration Tool featuring an intuitive GUI and CLI tools that simplify installation, management and monitoring. In addition, H6F0 GT cards also offer unique diagnostic capabilities. They are able to isolate cable and connector failures through independent control of each port and management of data passed through the mini-SAS HD connectors.

The ATTO ExpressSAS® H6F0 GT will be integrated into a live PLX/Avago demonstration at the SC11 Supercomputing event in Seattle, Wash, November 14-17, 2011 (Avago booth #5315).
