Amherst, NY (August 18, 2014) - ATTO Technology, Inc., a global leader of storage, network connectivity and infrastructure solutions for data-intensive computing environments for more than 25 years, will introduce its new FibreBridge® 7500 Storage Controller at VMworld 2014 in San Francisco, California, August 24 through August 28. As IT infrastructures see some of their most radical changes in over a decade, ATTO's new 7500 and complete integrated portfolio of storage and network connectivity products assures solutions for today's challenging new high performance IT environments.
"The transformation taking place within the IT market requires a very different set of performance characteristics," said Wayne Arvidson, Vice President of Marketing and Channels at ATTO Technology. "ATTO has been solving similar challenges in other vertical markets for more than 25 years and now brings this expertise to virtualized IT infrastructures."
The ATTO FibreBridge® 7500 Storage Controller is an accelerated, high performance storage platform that adds Enterprise-level Fibre Channel SAN connectivity to low-cost SAS JBOD storage. ATTO's exceptionally fast acceleration architecture has dedicated memory modules and data paths so commands won't have to compete for shared system resources allowing more data transfers at faster transfer rates. The 7500 creates a modular solution that forms an ideal platform for building out a virtualized, software defined data center.
Supporting "build your own" or the industry's leading storage arrays, the 7500's raw performance enables virtualization of SSD & HDD to create high performance, low latency storage solutions.
ATTO's 7500 leverages the highly reliable and proven technology introduced by the FibreBridge® 6500 which leading storage companies have installed in thousands of data centers worldwide. Both products feature ATTO's Drive Map Director™ technology which reduces operating expenses by eliminating manual mapping of LUNs and the need to remap LUNs if a drive shelf is removed for maintenance or failure. The 6500 features ATTO's Virtual Device Response (VDR) technology which enables devices to queue and execute commands on behalf of busy or unresponsive tape storage, reducing the number of failed or incomplete backups.
Completing the virtualized infrastructure, are ATTO's Celerity™ Gen 5 powered 16Gb & 8Gb Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapters (HBAs), ExpressSAS® 12Gb & 6Gb HBAs and FastFrame™ 10GbE Network and Storage Interface Cards (NICs). The solution will be demonstrated in booth #211 at the Moscone Center.
ATTO's Gen 5 powered, Celerity 16Gb line of Fibre Channel HBAs provide the ideal end-to-end solution for managing data center performance across virtualized SAN environments while extending the value of fabric virtualization. ATTO's Celerity line unleashes the full potential of high-density server virtualization, cloud architectures, and next-generation storage, such as SSD-based systems. This highly integrated family of adapters is engineered to optimize data transfer using a combination of exclusive features. N-Port ID Virtualization (NPIV), a key feature of ATTO's HBA technology, enables each Fibre Channel HBA to define multiple "virtual ports", which can be assigned to each virtual machine, enabling administrators to manage storage in much the same way they manage storage attached to physical machines. ATTO's proprietary MultiPath Director™ technology provides uninterrupted access to storage with automatic path failover and failback, and is the only solution that allows workstations, not just servers, direct connection to high-availability, high-performance enterprise-class storage for shared workflows.
The latest addition to the ExpressSAS® family, the 12Gb SAS/SATA HBA, provides users with fast and reliable storage connectivity while enabling scalability for next generation platforms and infrastructures. Optimized for extremely low latency and high-bandwidth data transfer, ATTO's wide variety of port configurations and RAID levels offer flexibility and reliability for the most demanding applications
The ATTO family of FastFrame NICs deliver high performance I/O connectivity and lossless Ethernet support where guaranteed data delivery rates are required. As a pioneer in iSCSI, ATTO's FastFrame product line has been designed for more rigorous data transfer and reliability standards required for storage interconnect, with driver support for Linux®, Mac®, Windows® and VMware vSphere®. Available in single, dual and quad-port configurations, the 10GbE NICs can be used anywhere in your infrastructure, including workstations, storage, servers and data center racked servers. Leveraging ATTO's exclusive Advanced Data Streaming (ADS™) Technology, FastFrame products provide high bandwidth and managed latency for high-performance, enterprise-level iSCSI storage as well as standard 10GbE network infrastructures.
"With the addition of the 7500 storage controller, ATTO further extends the industry's broadest range of storage & network connectivity products, all optimized to work together." added Arvidson. "From workgroup to enterprise, ATTO provides technology for all facets of the new IT performance challenges. But the true testament of ATTO's industry leadership can be seen in over 30 booths throughout the show floor which have certified ATTO as part of their solutions."
