Storage Networking World, Dallas, TX (October 15, 2007) – ATTO Technology, Inc., a global leader of storage connectivity and infrastructure solutions for data-intensive computing environments, is showcasing its ExpressSAS® SAS/SATA RAID adapters, its FastStream™ Virtual Tape appliance, and its 4th Generation 4-Gb Celerity™ Fibre Channel host adapters as solutions that enhance IT and digital media workflow productivity and protect critical storage. ATTO product displays will be in booth PP-13 and their ExpressSAS® RAID adapter will be featured in a live demonstration at Intel's expo booth at the Storage Networking World Fall 2007 conference hosted October 15-18 at the Gaylord Texan Resort Hotel and Convention Center in Dallas, Texas.
ATTO is highlighting their ExpressSAS® SAS/SATA RAID adapter featuring DVRAID™ that provides parity protection developed for high-bandwidth environments. The ATTO ExpressSAS® RAID adapter family provides SAS/SATA II connectivity and delivers blazing-fast 3-Gb/sec. per port performance for IT and digital media users requiring the highest performance SAS RAID solutions. Intel® is highlighting SAS solutions in booth +3 with ATTO ExpressSAS® products featured in their live demonstration. The demonstration depicts high-bandwidth end user work flows including an editing application for a movie or broadcast production facility and an industrial designer CAD/CAM application.
The ATTO Technology low-profile line of SAS/SATA adapters offer a wide selection of important features and capabilities. Providing advanced fault-tolerant features that include hot swap, hot spares, online capacity expansion, battery back-up, and optimized disk utilization for SAS/SATA or SATA II drives or any combination, the ATTO ExpressSAS® R348 and R380 adapters deliver an intelligent and robust RAID solution. These low-profile adapters support user selectable port configuration options, include standard RAID levels 0, 1, 4, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 and feature ATTO's exclusive DVRAID™, making them capable of handling the most demanding applications such as 2K and 4K film, multiple layers of complex, uncompressed real-time effects, and high-definition video editing.
ATTO's FastStream Virtual Tape (VT) appliance, unlike other virtual tape products in the market today, allows you to use JBOD or RAID arrays, to create a virtual tape solution without the cost of additional servers or software. ATTO's virtual tape appliances offer users increased backup and restore performance, improved data reliability, availability and integrity while maintaining existing backup processes and procedures.
FastStream VT is a standalone component that is used in combination with a customer's preferred storage products. As storage volumes increase at exponential and unpredictable rates, the ability to add additional storage is critical. Because FastStream VT appliances are separate from the storage, customers can easily expand their virtual tape library capacity by adding additional storage when needed, as needed. In addition, FastStream VT is OS independent and compatible with all industry-leading independent software vendors, enabling easy integration into current infrastructure. It is seen by system applications as a conventional library of tapes with high-performance backup and restore, and instantaneous file access capability along with seamless scalability.
“Storage Networking World provides us the opportunity to demonstrate how ATTO solutions support high-bandwidth and data protection applications in a multitude of environments. The multiple product displays showcase how ATTO storage connectivity and infrastructure solutions simplify IT and digital media workflow while ensuring protection of critical and expensive data,” states Ed Tierney, director of marketing for ATTO Technology, Inc.
