Avnet ACS Vendor Faire, Phoenix, AZ (July 9, 2007) – ATTO Technology, Inc., a global leader of storage connectivity and infrastructure solutions for data-intensive computing environments, is exhibiting their complete line of storage connectivity products at the Avnet Applied Computing Solutions Faire in Phoenix this week. ATTO will promote proven, reliable high-performance connectivity solutions for data-intensive computer applications such as high-end digital editing where workflow productivity is critical and performance must be optimal.
ATTO and Avnet partner to provide leading-edge storage solutions and support for video and audio professionals. Avnet, with annual revenue of $14+ billion, ranked #48 on BusinessWeeks 2007 Information Technology 100, compilation of top tech performers, markets and distributes ATTO RAID solutions for Avid storage systems.
At the show, ATTO will be displaying it's FastStream™ SC 5300 storage controller appliance, a standalone unit that adds hardware RAID protection to Avid MediaDock Ultra320™ storage configurations allowing customers to dynamically protect, manage and extend existing high-performance storage systems. FastStream SC 5300 is a 1U appliance that features two 4-Gb Fibre Channel host interface ports and two Ultra320 SCSI drive interfaces for native SCSI drive Support. FastStream is optimized for Avid editing systems and protects data without compromising system performance. Professionals can edit up to 2 uncompressed streams of 10-bit high-definition video with an alpha channel or 11 streams of uncompressed standard-definition video while reliably protecting data. The FastStream storage controller's 480 MB/sec. throughput makes it a reliable, high-performance solution to enhance productivity of broadcast, cable, production and post-production environments.
ATTO will also display their ExpressPCI Ultra320 SCSI host adapters, Celerity Fibre Channel host adapters and ExpressSAS® SAS/SATA RAID adapters – all high-performance products for advanced storage connectivity solutions featuring ATTO's exclusive Advanced Data Streaming (ADS™) Technology, that facilitates moving large blocks of data faster and more efficiently on the PCI bus than any other host adapter on the market.
ATTO's ExpressPCI UL5D is a dual-channel SCSI host adapter that combines four lane PCI Express technology and Ultra320 speeds for high-performance environments and applications such as high definition video, special effects rendering and non-linear editing.
Moving data at express speeds without bottlenecks is ensured with the ATTO Celerity Fibre Channel single-, dual- or quad- channel host adapters. The combination of PCI-Express and 4-Gigabit Fibre Channel technologies enables applications such as high definition video editing, 2K digital production and transactional environments such as databases to take advantage of the 800 MB/sec. per channel throughput performance.
ATTO's ExpressSAS® SAS/SATA RAID adapter provides parity protection in high-bandwidth environments. The ATTO ExpressSAS® RAID Adapter family provides SAS/SATA II connectivity and delivers blazing-fast 3-Gb/sec. per port performance for digital media users requiring the highest performance SAS/SATA RAID solutions. It is the industry's only low-profile line of adapters offering user-selectable port configuration options. Providing advanced fault-tolerant features that include hot swap, hot spares, online capacity expansion, battery back-up, and optimized disk utilization for SAS/SATA or SATA II drives or any combination, the ATTO ExpressSAS® R348 and R380 adapters deliver an intelligent and robust RAID solution. The adapters support standard RAID levels 0, 1, 4, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 and feature ATTO's exclusive DVRAID™, making them capable of handling the most demanding applications such as 2K and 4K film, multiple layers of complex, uncompressed real-time effects, and high definition video editing.
“Avnet's Faire provides us with the opportunity to demonstrate how ATTO solutions support high-bandwidth applications in multiple environments. We will also showcase how ATTO storage infrastructure solutions simplify and improve digital media workflow,” states Ed Tierney, director of marketing for ATTO Technology, Inc.
