Mar 27, 2007

Amherst, NY (March 27, 2007) — ATTO Technology, Inc., a global leader of storage connectivity and infrastructure solutions for data-intensive computing environments, announced today that it will provide its ExpressPCI UL5D Low-Profile Ultra320 SCSI host adapter for the HP StorageWorks MSL tape library family. The combined solution is ideal for customers’ storage environments with business-class HP MSL tape libraries, where dual-channel connectivity complements direct-attached storage configurations by supporting performance of up to 640 MB/sec. through existing storage devices.

“By using the ATTO ExpressPCI UL5D Low-Profile Ultra320 SCSI host adapter with HP StorageWorks MSL tape libraries, customers will get a high performance storage connectivity solution with enhanced data throughput and reduced data recovery times for high bandwidth environments," states Timothy Klein, president and CEO of ATTO Technology.

The RoHS-compliant ExpressPCI UL5D Low-Profile offers dual-channel Ultra320 SCSI connectivity that delivers up to 320 MB/sec. per channel data-transfer rates. By leveraging the high performance of both PCI Express and Ultra320 SCSI, the UL5D Low-Profile is an ideal solution for backup and recovery in data-intensive IT environments. With ATTO's unique Advanced Data Streaming (ADS™) Technology, the ExpressPCI UL5D Low-Profile enables HP MSL tape library customers to achieve enhanced I/O performance. With a combination of features that control acceleration of large and small blocks of data, ADS provides faster, smoother and more efficient transfer of data for backup applications.

Storage data protection and recovery is important for companies that demand proficient, interoperable and reliable data-recovery applications. ATTO's ExpressPCI UL5D Low-Profile is specifically designed to deliver performance-oriented, easy-to-use, scalable and flexible automated tape storage for environments with uncertain data growth and shrinking backup windows.

”ATTO technology complements our HP StorageWorks MSL family of tape libraries, including the MSL6000, MSL4048, MSL8096 and MSL2024, and allows customers to effectively manage their growing needs for flexible and scalable storage environments,” said Jeff Kato, director, Tape Automation, StorageWorks Division, HP.
