ATTO Technology, Inc. has been celebrating 30 years of innovation and success this year and it has been busy indeed. ATTO specializes in storage and network connectivity and infrastructure solutions for data-intensive computing environments, and is the recognized leader in the Information Technology and Media and Entertainment storage connectivity markets.
We launched several new products this year. Those are the ATTO XstreamCORE™ FC 7600 32Gb Fibre Channel to 12Gb SAS storage controller, ATTO ThunderLink® SH 3128 Thunderbolt adapter, ATTO ThunderRack ThunderLink rack shelf, and ATTO FastFrame™ 25/40/50/100GbE NICs.
ATTO president and CEO Tim Klein was featured in a CIO Review article that details the connection between ATTO and NetApp in depth, and explains how ATTO products enhance NetApp environments. We wrote a white paper discussing the challenges of selecting the proper fabric architecture for Storage Area Networks which was included as part of the Fibre Channel Industry Association 2018 industry solution guide.
There were many developments with our partners, including certifications for ATTO ThunderLink 40GbE and 10GbE Thunderbolt 3 adapters and 40GbE FastFrame NICs, ATTO Celerity™ 16Gb Gen 6 FC, FastFrame 10GbE NICs and ExpressSAS™ 12Gb HBAs. ATTO engineers were also busy coding and testing, releasing several driver and software updates. Perhaps most notably was adding driver support for macOS® Mojave, Apple’s latest OS for Mac workstations and laptops.
ATTO crossed the globe, staying in touch with our friends and partners. We attended many tradeshows this year including NAB Las Vegas and New York, VMworld, both NetApp Insight Las Vegas and Barcelona, InterBEE in Tokyo, and IBC in Amsterdam.
In 1988 Tim Klein and Dave Snell left their jobs to chase a vision. Working out of a family room, the duo came up with technology that dramatically sped up storage access times and that could be added to existing computer systems. 30 years later, ATTO Technology still chases that vision, creating innovations that accelerate storage access for the latest and upcoming generations of technology.
While it was an exciting year, there are plans for next year that are even more thrilling! ATTO president and CEO Tim Klein put it succinctly: “as grateful as we are for the last 30 years, you should know that we are even more excited for the coming years!”
