Partner Spotlight - NetApp

David Hitz, James Lau, and Michael Malcolm founded Network Appliance, Inc in 1992. Today, we refer to this company as simply NetApp™. The founders had created the Data ONTAP® operating system and Write Anywhere File Layout (WAFL®) software, which together solved many enterprise storage challenges at the time. With the launch of these products, NetApp grew quickly to an annual revenue of $1 billion by the end of the decade.

Today, NetApp provides a full range of cloud, hybrid cloud, and private cloud data services. For on-premises environments, NetApp offers high-performing, cloud-integrated technologies and converged and hyper-converged infrastructures. This includes a highly differentiated portfolio of all-flash and hybrid array offerings.

With their partners, such as ATTO, NetApp empowers global organizations to unleash the full potential of their data to expand customer touchpoints, foster greater innovation and optimize their operations. With our expertise in latency management and our focus on high-performance technology, ATTO complements NetApp’s solutions for demanding storage applications.

As an example, ATTO FibreBridge® controllers are a critical component in NetApp MetroCluster™, which is used in a variety of markets including the financial, manufacturing and educational sectors to provide continuous data availability for mission-critical applications. ATTO FibreBridge 7600N is a third-generation FibreBridge solution that enables synchronous site-to-site replication by providing low latency 32Gb Fibre Channel connections to NetApp flash and disk systems while maintaining high resiliency.

ATTO Technology has been a member of the NetApp Alliance Partner Program since 2010. By working with NetApp, ATTO enables customers to optimize their IT infrastructure, investments, deploy new capabilities, and accelerate time to market. The combination of ATTO high-performance connectivity, coupled with NetApp E-Series and FAS storage systems provides the solutions needed to quickly retrieve, analyze and process large amounts of data.

ATTO certified connectivity options for NetApp storage and data management solutions include ATTO XstreamCORE® Fibre Channel-to-SAS/SATA intelligent bridges and ATTO Celerity™ Gen 6 32Gb and 16Gb host bus adapters (HBAs). Additionally, ATTO tests ATTO ThunderLink® Thunderbolt™ adapters, ATTO FastFrame™ Ethernet NICs, and ATTO ExpressSAS™ HBAs for performance and compatibility with NetApp solutions.
