ATTO to Exhibit at the 13th annual Flash Memory Summit
ATTO Technology will be exhibiting at the 13th annual Flash Memory Summit, held this year August 7-9 at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, California. The summit is a gathering for a technology segment that has seen rapid growth over the past several years.
Flash memory is an umbrella term to cover non-volatile memory, SSDs and other solid state memory storage used in enterprise storage environments, desktop computers, as well as in smartphones, tablets, mobile and embedded systems. It’s a multi-billion dollar market that only promises further growth. No wonder the 2017 summit drew over 6,000 registrants and 120 exhibitors!
While flash memory is fast, a tray of SSDs can accomplish 150 times the IOPS a similar tray of HDDs can, it requires connectivity that can handle the speed and bandwidth that makes flash memory desirable in the first place. This is where ATTO steps in.
Our XstreamCORE™ storage controller was built specifically to leverage the strengths of flash memory. With XstreamCORE system architects can build modular storage that is optimized for flash memory, allowing large amounts of SSD Flash Storage to be shared over Fibre Channel (FC) or Ethernet to multiple servers. XstreamCORE can break the storage barrier imposed by blade servers and other forms of direct-attached storage (DAS), allowing existing installations to expand into flash memory without sacrificing the hardware already in use.
Visitors to the Flash Memory Summit can take in the XstreamCORE and also other ATTO flash memory connectivity solutions like our 32Gb Gen 6 Celerity™ HBAs and FastFrame™ 100/50/40/25/10GbE NICs.
The Flash Memory Summit isn’t all about hardware, however, as there is always a strong educational component, along with plenty of networking opportunities. This year, attendees can learn the latest in memory technology advances, which includes a thorough look at NVMe and NVMe-oF.
ATTO products are fully compatible with the NVMe and NVMe-oF standards, so any investment into ATTO storage and networking hardware is future-proofed. Indeed, our FC-NVMe drivers (initiator and target) provide the lowest latency storage server solutions available on the market and are 20% faster than any other.
This is just scratching the surface of what the Flash Memory Summit is all about. If you’re going, look for ATTO at booth #817, stop in and say "hello!" Otherwise, stay tuned to our Facebook and Twitter pages for updates.
