ATTO to Show the Power They Add to VMware Storage Environments

Aug 06, 2018

The 15th annual VMworld is around the corner, and this year promises to be as exciting and interesting as the past 14. Held August 26-30 at Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas, ATTO will be there in booth #2813.

ATTO has the widest portfolio of VMware® certified storage and network connectivity solutions for workgroups and enterprise environments, and has the only VMware certified Thunderbolt™ product for Fibre Channel SAN connectivity.

Over 20,000 attendees are expected at VMworld 2018, and each one can view the fantastic live demo we have planned. It will feature a Mac Pro® virtualized with three OS X® virtual machines (VMs) and ATTO-enabled SAN connectivity via our ThunderLink® Thunderbolt adapters.

These will be attached to an ATTO XstreamCORE® 7550 showing how it decouples a server from direct-attached storage (DAS) allowing SAN connectivity and the creation of clusters. This all happens with less than four microseconds of latency. This demo emphatically shows the power ATTO brings to any VMware environment.

ATTO will have on display a ThunderLink 2162 and demo the ESXi Driver for Mac and Thunderbolt, which is the only ESXi™ certified driver for Thunderbolt-enabled Fibre Channel adapters. There will also be ATTO Fibre Channel HBAs, SAS/SATA HBAs and Ethernet NICs, and ATTO will show how we accelerate VMware environments with our high performance storage and network connectivity products.

What kind of performance? ATTO's Fibre Channel HBAs have over 137% more throughput than our nearest competitor and the lowest latency. ATTO 100/50/40/25/10GbE NICs have the best performance to power ratio than any other NIC on the market. Our storage controllers are the lowest latency controller available, thanks to their hardware-based acceleration.

ATTO adds value as well, with our storage controllers being the most economical way to bridge DAS to SAN storage. You just add the controller - no additional compute or infrastructure changes are necessary.

We will be at VMworld with a clear message: IT administrators relying on VMware® applications should also rely on ATTO to optimize and expand the performance of their installations.
