Pinewood Studios
Pinewood Studios provides world-class facilities for television and film production services from around the globe. Their creative industry knowledge enabled the creation of recent films such as Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Speed was a driving factor in Pinewood Digital upgrading their infrastructure from IP-based to a Fibre Channel SAN. Additionally their clients use Apple Macs, which require a Thunderbolt adapter to connect to external Fibre Channel storage. ATTO ThunderLink 2162 Thunderbolt 2 to 16Gb Fibre Channel adapters provide key
Fibre Channel connectivity, by connecting to Fibre Channel switches and a Rohde and Schwarz SpycerBox with ATTO Celerity Fibre Channel HBAs.

Resolving Non-Responsive ATTO Thunderbolt Adapters
ATTO ThunderLink may become non-responsive but may still appear available within the macOS. This also may occur with an ATTO FastFrame NIC in a third-party Thunderbolt chassis. This only occurs when the ATTO product is connected to a Mac using Thunderbolt Route String 3 AND any additional Thunderbolt device is connected to the Mac on Route String 1. A reboot of the Mac or Thunderbolt device will clear the issue, but it is likely to occur again.

Using Thunderbolt and LTFS with LTO Tape to Enhance Media Workflows
Thunderbolt provides a solution to these obstacles when combined with linear tape-open (LTO) tape. Prior to Thunderbolt, moving large volumes of data in the media sector involved portable disks— there was no easy way to move content from a mobile computer to tape, which is less expensive. Now, connecting a Thunderbolt-to-SAS adapter outfitted with an LTO SAS tape drive provides a simple and affordable means to store, archive and transport large amounts of content.
